Building Future-Ready Drone Professionals Through World-Class Infrastructure
The Police Aerial Systems & Technology Centre (PASTEC) has been developed with modern training infrastructure to provide a comprehensive learning environment for drone education, research, innovation, and operational excellence. The Centre integrates advanced classrooms, specialized laboratories, simulation facilities, and practical flying infrastructure to ensure competency-based learning and mission-oriented training.
Smart Classrooms
PASTEC features modern, technology-enabled classrooms equipped with multimedia presentation systems, interactive displays, high-speed internet connectivity, audio-visual teaching aids, and digital learning resources. These classrooms support instructor-led lectures, technical demonstrations, case studies, and interactive learning sessions.
Drone Training Laboratory
The Drone Training Laboratory provides participants with hands-on exposure to the architecture, components, and working principles of various categories of drones. Trainees gain practical knowledge of airframes, propulsion systems, flight controllers, batteries, communication systems, navigation sensors, payloads, and onboard electronics.
Drone Maintenance & Repair Laboratory
This laboratory is dedicated to the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of drone systems. Participants learn preventive maintenance procedures, component replacement, firmware updates, system diagnostics, and maintenance best practices to ensure operational reliability.
Advanced Flight Simulation Laboratory
The Flight Simulation Laboratory enables trainees to practice drone operations in a realistic virtual environment before undertaking actual flight missions. Simulation-based training enhances flight skills, emergency handling, mission planning, and operational confidence while minimizing training risks.
Indoor Flying Training Arena
The Indoor Flying Arena provides a controlled environment for beginners to practice basic flight maneuvers, hovering, take-off and landing, navigation, and emergency procedures irrespective of outdoor weather conditions.
Outdoor Flying Training Zone
The dedicated Outdoor Flying Zone allows participants to perform practical flight training, mission planning, waypoint navigation, aerial photography, surveillance exercises, search and rescue simulations, and emergency response scenarios under instructor supervision.
Drone Forensics Laboratory
The Drone Forensics Laboratory focuses on the scientific examination and analysis of drones involved in criminal investigations. Participants are trained in digital evidence collection, flight log analysis, memory extraction, firmware examination, GPS data analysis, and forensic reporting.
Counter-Drone Technology Laboratory
The Counter-Drone Laboratory introduces participants to modern technologies used for detecting, identifying, tracking, and mitigating unauthorized or hostile drones. Training includes RF detection systems, radar, electro-optical sensors, thermal imaging, Remote ID concepts, and counter-UAS operational procedures.
GIS & Remote Sensing Laboratory
This laboratory provides practical training in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), satellite imagery interpretation, digital mapping, aerial survey data processing, orthomosaic generation, digital elevation models, and geospatial intelligence applications for policing and disaster management.
AI & Emerging Technologies Laboratory
PASTEC promotes research and experimentation in Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, computer vision, autonomous drone systems, swarm technologies, intelligent navigation, and next-generation aerial applications for law enforcement and public safety.
Mission Planning & Operations Centre
The Mission Planning & Operations Centre enables trainees to design, simulate, monitor, and evaluate drone missions. Participants learn operational planning, risk assessment, airspace management, flight authorization procedures, and real-time mission coordination.
Technical Workshop
The Technical Workshop supports practical learning in drone assembly, system integration, payload installation, calibration, testing, and field repairs. It also facilitates prototype development and technical innovation projects.
Digital Library & Knowledge Resource Centre
The Digital Library provides access to technical books, aviation regulations, research journals, DGCA publications, operational manuals, e-learning resources, and digital reference material related to drones, aviation, GIS, AI, and public safety technologies.
Conference & Seminar Hall
The Centre includes a modern conference hall for seminars, workshops, guest lectures, conferences, technical demonstrations, and collaborative knowledge-sharing programmes involving experts from government, academia, industry, and research organizations.
Safety & Operational Infrastructure
PASTEC maintains dedicated safety infrastructure, including pre-flight inspection areas, equipment storage facilities, battery charging stations, maintenance bays, emergency response equipment, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure safe and efficient drone operations.
Integrated Learning Environment
The integration of modern infrastructure, experienced faculty, practical training, advanced simulation, and research facilities enables PASTEC to provide a comprehensive ecosystem for developing highly skilled drone professionals capable of supporting modern policing, homeland security, disaster management, and public safety operations.
PASTEC is committed to providing an advanced, technology-driven learning environment that transforms knowledge into operational excellence.
