Police Aerial Systems and Technology Centre (PASTEC)
The Police Aerial Systems and Technology Centre (PASTEC) is a premier training, research, and technology institution established at the Police Radio Training School (PRTS), Indore, Madhya Pradesh, with the objective of strengthening the technological capabilities of law enforcement through advanced drone and aerial technologies.
Established as a pioneering initiative of the Madhya Pradesh Police, PASTEC serves as a dedicated centre for professional education, operational training, applied research, innovation, and capacity building in the field of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and emerging public safety technologies.
Modern policing demands rapid decision-making, real-time situational awareness, and technology-enabled operations. Drone technology has emerged as a force multiplier for law enforcement, supporting surveillance, crime scene documentation, traffic management, disaster response, search and rescue, infrastructure inspection, intelligence gathering, environmental monitoring, and public safety operations. Recognizing these evolving operational requirements, PASTEC has been established to prepare police personnel and government agencies to effectively integrate aerial technologies into their day-to-day operations.
PASTEC provides comprehensive training that combines classroom instruction with practical flying experience, advanced flight simulation, mission planning, aviation safety, maintenance, repair, aerial mapping, photogrammetry, GIS applications, thermal imaging, drone forensics, and counter-drone technologies. The Centre follows a competency-based approach designed to develop technically proficient, safety-conscious, and mission-ready professionals.
The Centre is equipped with modern classrooms, advanced drone laboratories, flight simulators, dedicated flying facilities, technical workshops, and research infrastructure. These facilities provide an immersive learning environment that bridges theory with real-world operational experience.
Beyond training, PASTEC actively promotes research and innovation in Artificial Intelligence (AI), autonomous aerial systems, intelligent communication, geospatial technologies, remote sensing, and next-generation policing solutions. The Centre collaborates with government organizations, academic institutions, research laboratories, industry partners, and technology innovators to encourage knowledge exchange, indigenous development, and continuous technological advancement.
PASTEC is committed to support the national vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat by promoting indigenous innovation, technological self-reliance, and the responsible use of advanced aerial systems for public safety and homeland security.
With a strong focus on professionalism, operational excellence, safety and continuous learning, PASTEC aims to become a nationally recognized Centre of Excellence that serves Police Forces, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Disaster Response Agencies, Government Departments, and other public safety organizations across India.
As technology continues to transform policing, PASTEC remains dedicated to developing future-ready professionals, advancing research, and delivering innovative solutions that enhance operational effectiveness and contribute to a safer, smarter and secure nation.
